Raul Bermudez, Vice President Charter Division
Raul launched MarineMax Vacations in 2011 and leads the Charter and Yacht sales effort for MarineMax with more than 15 years of experience in the yacht charter industry.
Raul was with TUI Marine where he held several executive positions including VP of charter sales and marketing and global yield management. During his 12 year tenure, Raul was in charge of sales, marketing and global yield management for 5 brands including The Moorings, Sunsail, Footloose, Club Vass and LeBoat, over 1400 yachts, 1200 canal boats, 7 hotels, 12 marinas and 90 locations in 29 countries and 5 currencies.
Prior to working for The Moorings / TUI, Raul spent 10 years with Ryder Truck rental in a variety of roles including Dealer Development Manager, Business Systems Analyst and Pricing Consultant.
Raul holds a bachelor degree in Business Management and Management Information Systems from Florida International University. When he is not working or boating, you can find him on a soccer field either coaching or watching his kids play.
Michelle Bonasoro, Office Manager
As Office Manager, Michelle ensures all charter operation logistics and planning are service oriented and efficient for both our internal teams as well as guest service delivery. Michelle has extensive experience in the BVI charter market. Her clear communication style, integrity and knowledge of the product are an asset to our in house teams and charter guests.
Prior to coming aboard MarineMax Vacations, Michelle spent over 10 years with The Moorings Sailing Vacations. Michelle worked in various departments within the company including a Vacation Planning Agent selling bareboat, crewed and power yachts charter vacations and European canal boat rentals providing first class customer service.
Michelle’s first trip to the British Virgin Islands was a High School graduation present with a lifelong friend aboard a bareboat catamaran. This is where Michelle fell in love with the BVI’s and the charter yacht business. Her favorite activity in the BVI’s is snorkeling at Monkey Point, the Indians and exploring through the Baths.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and two children boating and snow skiing.
Maria Dudenhoefer, Charter Sales Consultant
As a Charter Sales Consultant, Maria's primary responsibility is to the MarineMax Vacations client. Maria’s strengths lie in her ability to form strong relationships with clients and assist them throughout the planning of their own dream vacation. Her extensive work experience in hospitality paired with her engaging personality and passion for boating, Maria works closely with clients to ensure their individual vacation goals are delivered with an exceptional planning experience.
Maria graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Commerce with a minor in Sociology. As a Clearwater, Florida native she is no stranger to boats. She grew up on the water competitively sailing for 10 years. Maria still continues her love for the water with recreational boating on the weekends and weekly beach trips.
Andrea Hilton, Yacht Sales Assistant
Andrea, with her amiable personality and strong communication skills, is a highly qualified individual in her position. Prior to joining the MarineMax Vacations team, Andrea received her B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge and soon after started working in hospitality for Tournament Players Club at Valencia Golf Course. Following her job in hospitality, Andrea began work as the Marketing Assistant at Newhall Land and then as the Special Events and Annual Giving Coordinator for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. She later worked in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Ritz-Carlton as the Pre-Arrival Sales Coordinator and the Guest relations Coordinator where she worked closely with the needs of customers and guest preferences. Andre has now joined the MarineMax team and assists in the logistics and sales of our Charter Yacht Ownership Program.
As she has spent most of her life on the coasts of the U.S., Andrea enjoys going to the beach whenever she can. Alongside her passion for beach life, Andrea also has a proclaimed love for tacos!
Bentley Hodge, Base Manager (Tortola, British Virgin Islands)
Bentley can easily be considered an ambassador for the British Virgin Islands. He defines this through his “love for my people, my culture and my islands. There's nowhere else like the BVI - the sailing capital of the world!" Through this pleasant and caring disposition, as Base Manager at our base in Tortola, Bentley welcomes each of our guests with an open heart and a warm, friendly smile ready to cater to all their charter needs. In his role, Bentley is responsible for delivering high customer expectations and maintaining our exceptional company standards across our fleet of luxury yachts in all aspects of base operations
Bentley’s love and passion for the marine industry began 20 years ago where he started out as the Data Entry Clerk in the supply room for The Moorings. From there, Bentley enjoyed many promotions, including responsibilities to the Yacht's International Division. Over the course of his career, Bentley has worked alongside technical managers and service advisories as well as carried specific duties with yacht modification.
His close work with suppliers and manufacturers like Beneteau, Jeanneau and Robertson and Caine and Raymarine paved the way for him to hold various management positions as Supply Manager, Service Call Manager, Courtesy Manager and Base Manager. Most recently before joining MarineMax Vacations, Bentley was the Customer Service Manager at Horizon Yacht Charters where he traveled to other bases and implemented new procedures, and attended numerous trade and boats shows.
In Bentley's spare time, he enjoys cooking, photography and drawing. He and his wife Delana have two children, one an alumnus of UT Austin, and the youngest attending the University of North Texas
Jody Krebs, Marketing Manager
Jody's primary responsibility is the creation and execution of integrated traditional and digital marketing strategies for the charter vacations division. Jody's inherent customer service background is obvious in her dedication to clients as well as her dedication and affinity for the image and branding of MarineMax Vacations. Jody also manages marketing for Aquila Power Catamarans, the only power boat you will find in our BVI Fleet.
Jody's marketing career began at the corporate headquarters for Blockbuster Video as National Marketing Coordinator for the entertainment retail giant. Continuing with that retail customer focused background, upon Blockbuster's relocation to Dallas, she became the Florida District Promotional Specialist for Babies R Us, where she was responsible for the local marketing efforts for 13 Florida stores.
Jody also has traditional ad agency experience as an Account Executive where she created and executed marketing plans for clients in varying industries from Travel & Tourism, Banking and Real Estate to major Retail Centers. Most recently, Jody was with Bayshore Solutions where she was an Account Manager and Google Certified Professional. She began work with a new client called MarineMax Vacations as their SEO and SEM Account Manager. A natural fit for MarineMax Vacations, she was brought onboard and the rest, is well, history in the making.
Her love of the water and boating keep Jody quite content in St. Pete. Jody attended the University of South Florida, is the very proud mother of a son serving in the United States Coast Guard and her daughter, a FGCU Alumni. Jody is a confessed chocoholic and shoeaholic, and always armed with a sharp sense of humor.
Clarence Malone, Director of Operations, BVI Charter Base
His extensive charter career began with The Moorings and has spanned across all service areas from yacht maintenance and charter delivery to base operations and Management. Before departing the Moorings in 2017, Clarence was their Director of Operations in Tortola since 2000. Clarence's vast knowledge of charter operations and strong base management skills will continue to strengthen our Tortola Base Team.
Clarence is originally from the beautiful island of Tortola and graduated from the Chapman School of Seamanship in Stuart, Florida.
Lex Raas, President
After many years of leading the world’s best known brands in the charter industry, Lex is excited to be part of introducing a new offering to power and sailboat vacationers. Lex oversees the charter division and is also responsible for the global marketing of the MarineMax brand.
Lex started his career in the marine industry in South Africa, where he built performance sail and powerboats. He became the Beneteau sailboat importer into South Africa in 1980 and subsequently joined Beneteau in France and the U.S. His last position held at Beneteau France was Directeur Bureau d’Etude (Director of Development) in 1994. Joining The Moorings in 1994 as Logistics Director, Raas was quickly promoted to VP of Operations and then CEO in 2001. Raas oversaw the merger of The Moorings and Sunsail as CEO of First Choice Marine. In 2007, he was appointed CEO of TUI Marine, overseeing The Moorings, Sunsail and LeBoat, which operated 2,400 boats globally. Raas is well known in the industry for his drive for innovation on boats, most noteworthy on catamarans, which have achieved many accolades by the industry and press. Raas has a unique international perspective of the charter and boat industry.
Lex currently lives in Florida and when he is not on his outrigger canoe, he is spending time with his wife, four kids and nine grandkids.
Amy Sterlicchi, Charter Sales Consultant
Amy is responsible for guiding guests through the planning process to create an unforgettable vacation. With her extensive background in the hospitality industry, she has a strong sense of guest relations and customer service. Amy's infectious energy, big smile and wealth of knowledge easily puts our guests at ease during the entire planning process of a fantastic getaway.
Amy has lived on 3 continents and traveled to more than 15 countries. She is a venerated traveler who knows what makes a travel experience smooth and memorable. Recently, she spent 2 years working for a Marriott country club just north of London, England. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from the Rosen College at University of Central Florida.
From her upbringing in California to her current residence in Florida, Amy’s love of water and sunshine keep her chasing adventure.
Ant Steward, Aquila Power Catamaran Consultant
No stranger to boats, Ant grew up in a boatyard. His dad was a boat builder, and Ant started yacht racing at a young age. He gave up his law studies to sail all over the world, rounding Cape Horn, and clocking up countless miles at sea.
At 25, Ant sold everything he had and built a 19 foot Open Boat and sailed his way into the world records - he is the first person to sail around the world in an Open Boat.
Ant has not ever strayed from the world of boats. He was manager of the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town, South Africa, he worked for Robertson and Caine, the biggest catamaran boat builder in the Southern hemisphere. He started up his own yacht delivery company, contracting skippers to deliver over 80 boats a year, raising the bar in safety and accountability in the yachting industry. He then joined TUI Marine as Vice President of Operations, with their global brands of Moorings, Sunsail and Le Boat, and he managed their fleet of over 2,500 boats worldwide.
Whilst safety, systems and performance are his thing, his passion for boats and boating is what its all about for him.
Kelly Wooley, Charter Sales Consultant
Kelly's primary focus is providing excellent service in the entire charter booking process for our guests. From first contact in person or via telephone, Kelly assists guests in all planning and booking of charter vacations including our bareboat and crewed charters in the BVI as well as worldwide vacations aboard a variety of yachts. Through her knowledge of the charter experience and personal attention for our guests, she is a vital member of the team.
Kelly has loved being on the water since her first sailing class in Newport, Rhode Island many years ago. Kelly graduated with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Kelly was a member of the sailing club UNCW and has continued her love of the water as she resides on a sailboat in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Tammy Worthing, Charter Sales Consultant
Tammy is responsible for helping you plan your best vacation on the water. Whether regarding excursion recommendations, travel to and from your destination, or for details on the best dining spot, Tammy’s focus is to deliver the best vacation with unparalleled customer service.
Prior to joining the MarineMax Vacations team, Tammy was a charter sales agent in Seattle, Washington where she planned charters for Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations and for special event charters. Quite often she would join her charters as sailing crew to ensure the best charter experience was delivered.
Tammy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University, resides in San Diego and is always seeking adventure in life.
